The last date for car reveal has been announced, this being Williams. The team from Grove will be showing the world their car on the 15th February, a week today with an online event at 1pm GMT.
The team, which was sold by the Williams family to Dorilton Capital in the 2020 season, has previously indicated it will retain the traditional naming convention for its cars. The 2022 car is yet to be named.
This year will see Nicholas Latifi in his third season with the British team. Following George Russell’s departure to Mercedes, former Red Bull driver Alex Albon will be returning to F1 after a year out will be taking the other spot at Williams.
Heavily-revised regulations are sweeping through the sport for the 2022 campaign, which means that combined with the budget cap there is opportunity for teams like Williams to take a sizeable step forward from their efforts last season where they finished 8th overall with 23 points.
It is with great sadness that I announce that Sir Frank Williams has passed away at the age of 79.
Sir Frank was the longest ever serving team principal Formula 1 has ever seen, with him marking 50 years as a team boss in 2019.
During the 50 years in F1, he ran two teams and managed to win 7 drivers titles and 9 Constructors titles.

Williams, sustained a spinal injury in a car crash in 1986 that unable him to walk, he began reducing his workload in 2012. Claire Williams daughter of Sir Frank took over as family representative and later on took on the role of Deputy Team Principal whilst Sir Frank was still the Team Principal.
What a sad day for Formula 1, Sir Frank is an inspirational to all even after his accident he carried on and still done what he loves and now he has left a wonderful legacy. Following the news of Sir Frank’s death, a statement from Williams said: “It is with great sadness that on behalf of the Williams family, the team can confirm the death of Sir Frank Williams CBE, Founder and Former Team Principal of Williams Racing, at the age of 79. After being admitted into hospital on Friday, Sir Frank, passed away peacefully this morning surrounded by his family. Today we pay tribute to our much loved and inspirational figurehead. Frank will be sorely missed. We request that all friends and colleagues respect the Williams family’s wishes for privacy at this time.”
F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “This morning Claire Williams called to inform me of the very sad news that her beloved father, Sir Frank Williams, had passed away. He was a true giant of our sport that overcame the most difficult of challenges in life and battled every day to win on and off the track. We have lost a much loved and respected member of the F1 family and he will be hugely missed. His incredible achievements and personality will be etched on our sport forever. My thoughts are with all the Williams family and friends at this sad time.”
