Citroen Racing have confirmed that they will field an unchanged driver line-up for the 2026/27 Formula E season, the first of the Gen4 era.
Capable of reaching speeds in excess of 335kph, 0-100kph in approximately 1.8 seconds and 0-200kph in just 4.4 seconds – Gen4 will deliver 50% more power in race mode than the current Gen3 Evo race car.
The Gen4 car will be an average of 10 seconds faster per lap than the Gen3 car in qualifying mode. In Attack Mode, Gen4 produces to 600kW of power, a 71% increase in base output over Gen3 Evo, delivering performance that pushes the limits of electric racing. Gen4 is the only single-seater race car with permanent all wheel drive.
To take on the challenge, Citroen have opted for experience within their driver line-up with Cassidy and Vergne undoubtedly one of the most consistent and formidable pairings on the grid.
Cassidy finished Season 12 in 8th on 114 points, whereas Vergne in 12th on 68. Overall the team finished 5th in the Teams Standings.

I’m proud to continue this journey with the team. Developing a new generation of race car is always a unique challenge for a driver. The arrival of the GEN4 is incredibly exciting and will mark a major step forward for the championship. We still have plenty of work ahead of us, but I’m confident we’ll arrive at the start of Season 13 with strong foundations and be ready to fight from the very first race.
