  • Crawford and Vesti confirmed for Rookie Test

    Andretti have announced that Jak Crawford and Frederik Vesti will represent the Andretti Formula E team at the official Season 11 Berlin Rookie Test, taking place on Monday 14th July.

    Crawford returns to the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric cockpit for his third outing with the team, continuing to build on his experience as the Andretti Formula E’s team’s Reserve and Development Driver.

    The American impressed in his previous appearances at the 2024 Berlin Rookie Test, where he finished second overall, and the 2025 Jeddah E-Prix Free Practice 0 session, where he topped the timing sheets.

    Joining him in Berlin is Danish driver, Frederik Vesti, who will return to the all-electric World Championship having previously tested for Mahindra Racing at last year’s Rookie Test.

    A multiple race winner in Formula 2 and a former title contender, Vesti brings added pedigree through his role as a test and reserve driver for Mercedes AMG F1 team.

    Currently competing in the IMSA Sports Car Championship with Cadillac Whelen, the Danish driver’s experience at multiple levels of motorsport will serve him well as he builds on his previous Formula E outing and tackles the challenges of the GEN3 Evo.

    We’re pleased to confirm Jak and Frederik as our rookie test drivers for Berlin. Jak continues to impress us with both his pace and professionalism, and having him back for a third outing will allow him to build even further on the work he’s already done with our simulator and engineering teams. We’re also very excited to welcome Frederik to Andretti Formula E. His motorsport experience across a variety of categories and his reserve driver role with the Mercedes-AMG F1 team make him an excellent addition to our rookie lineup. It’s a seriously strong pairing, and we’re looking forward to seeing what both drivers can deliver.

    I’m looking forward to getting back the car for another outing. It feels like it hasn’t been that long ago that I was driving in Free Practice 0 in Jeddah, so I’m excited to get back out and put in some good work for the team. I really enjoyed driving the track in Berlin at last year’s Rookie Test and felt I performed well, so very much looking forward to getting some more laps under my belt.

    I’m extremely happy and proud to be participating in the Rookie Test. I did the one-day test last year and had a good experience in the Formula E car, but this time around with a bit more experience and with a great team such as Andretti behind me, it’s going to be a really exciting day for me to explore the all new GEN3 Evo, work with engineers and of course, learn from the team. Hopefully, I can also contribute to some of the team’s different test items throughout the day.

  • Andretti sign Jak Crawford as Reserve

    Andretti have announced that Jak Crawford has joined the team as its official Reserve and Development Driver for Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

    Crawford joins Season 9 World Champion Jake Dennis and Formula E veteran Nico Mueller to complete Andretti’s lineup for Season 11.

    Crawford returns to the team after an impressive Formula E debut at the 2024 Berlin E-Prix Rookie Test where he demonstrated a strong understanding of the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric finishing the day second overall in classification.

    The American has quickly climbed the motorsport ranks from winning multiple karting championships to competing in Formula 2 with DAMS Lucas Oil and becoming part of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team’s Young Driver Development program this year.

    Building on his experience, Crawford will play an integral role in the team’s Gen3 Evo development through simulator development and setup testing at Andretti Formula E’s Banbury headquarters.

    I’m very excited to be the official Reserve and Development Driver for the Andretti Formula E team in Season 11. Growing up in America, Andretti is such a household name in motorsports so it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to be part of the team. I’m keen to learn as much about the car as possible from both Jake and Nico, and to play a role on the development side through simulator work. I’m looking forward to getting started and to hopefully have the chance to get more experience in the car.

    We are very pleased to announce that Jak is taking a more permanent role with the Andretti Formula E team as our Reserve and Development Driver. His debut with us at the Berlin Rookie Test was very impressive and he immediately showed strong pace. When the opportunity of a Reserve and Development Driver arose, Jak was immediately of interest. He has demonstrated a mature approach through his second season in Formula 2, and since his appearance with us, has already achieved a win and three additional podiums. We look forward to his contributions in helping improve the team’s performance though his active role driving the simulator.

  • Marti & Chambers to drive for Andretti

    Andretti Formula E has announced that Chloe Chambers and Nerea Marti will represent the team in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s Women Test in Valencia.

    Making her Formula E debut in the first-ever Women’s Test hosted by an FIA World Championship, Chambers brings an extensive racing resume to the Indianapolis-based Andretti lineup that includes a win and three podiums with two rounds remaining in her first season of F1 Academy.

    Chambers started in karting at the age of eight, rising through the karting ranks over the next 10 years before moving into the Formula 4 United States Championship in 2021.
    The 2022 season saw her compete in W Series Championship before she went on to dominate the 2023 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America, winning eight of 12 races and making history as the first woman to win a race and claim pole position in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship.

    Rounding out Andretti Formula E’s testing lineup, Marti will take her first Formula E laps on her hometown track in Valencia.
    The Spanish driver moved up through the competitive karting ranks on her family’s track before moving into the Spanish F4 Championship in 2019.

    The 2021 season saw Marti claim the title of highest-ranking rookie in the W Series Championship, finishing fourth overall and gaining an FIA Formula 3 test day as her prize.
    Currently competing, in her second F1 Academy season, the 22 year old has scored one win and nine podium and currently sits fifth in the standings.

    I’m thrilled to be joining the Andretti Formula E team in Valencia. It will be different for me, being my first experience in electric racing, but I’m excited to take on this new challenge and expand my horizons. The Andretti Formula E team has had great success in Formula E, and I’m glad to be learning from some of the best! As an American, it’s especially exciting to be working with such an iconic name in racing. Thank you to F1 Academy, A14 Management and Monoflo International for enabling this opportunity. I’ll be putting 100% into learning all I can during the test.

    Getting behind the wheel of a Formula E car is an incredible opportunity. Formula E represents the future of racing, and I’m going to soak up every moment and learn as much as I can from the experience. The Series is all about innovation and pushing boundaries, and as a female driver, it’s what I’ve been striving for throughout my career, so I’m thrilled to be part of it. It’s very special that the test is taking place in Valencia, my hometown. Circuit Ricardo Tormo is where I got my first taste of racing, so I have some very special memories there. I’m focused on making the most of every lap and showing the Andretti Formula E team what I can do. I feel humbled by Andretti’s rich history, passion and dedication across all the series they compete in, and I couldn’t have dreamed of wearing better colours. I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got.

    We are super excited to announce both Chloe and Nerea as the Andretti drivers for the all-women test in Valencia. As an organization, we have been leaders in promoting women in motorsport, fielding multiple drivers over the years across our varied programs, and being the only Formula E team to run a woman driver for a full season with Simona de Silvestro in Season 2. Both Chloe and Nerea have shown their pedigree in F1 Academy with regular visits to the podium, and we are eager to see how they get on in the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric Formula E car. I’m sure they will be following closely on the progress that Jake and Nico make throughout the week to learn as much as they can before they take to the track.

  • Andretti signs Mueller for Season 11

    Nico Mueller will be making the switch to Andretti for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship campaign.

    Mueller joins ahead of Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship alongside confirmed teammate and Season 9 World Champion, Jake Dennis.

    The Swiss driver joins the team following Norman Nato’s exit piloting the Andretti Porsche 99X Electric machine in his fifth season of Formula E competition as the series enters its GEN3 Evo era.

    Mueller finished Season 10 strong with a streak of four top-six finishes to round out his fourth Formula E campaign and best finish in the Drivers’ World Championship standings.

    Outperforming the machinery underneath him on more than once occasion, with his former ABT CUPRA teammate and Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi scoring only four points to Mueller’s 52.

    In his 46 Formula E starts, the 32 year old has one podium finish (Valencia, Season 7) two fastest laps and has led 13 laps.
    In addition to his Formula E success dating back to his official rookie test in Marrakesh, Mueller has served as an official Audi factory driver, won the prestigious Nurburgring 24h and fought for the DTM title twice (2019, 2020) winning nine races and standing on the podium 24 times.

    Adding to the Swiss driver’s varied racing career, he has also competed in the World Endurance Championship, World Rallycross, GT Series and Stock Car racing.

    I’m very excited to join the Andretti Formula E Team. It’s a team that has seen success from the very beginning of the championship, particularly in the GEN3 era in their partnership with Porsche Motorsport. To work with Jake, a former World Champion is an honour and I’m looking forward to the opportunity. I’m going to give it my very best to contribute to the team’s success and hopefully aim for some podiums and my first Formula E win – that’s the target. I can’t wait to get going.

  • Nato and Andretti part ways

    Andretti has announced that Norman Nato will be leaving the team.
    Nato joined Andretti for Season 10, making the move from Nissan.

    The Frenchman secured a season-best result of third place his first and only podium for the American team on Formula E’s return to Shanghai in May.

    Nato finished the season in 15th in the Drivers’ World Championship on 47 points. Eight positions and 75 points lower than teammate Dennis managed.

    The team have indicated that they will make its 2024/25 line-up clear in the next few days, with Season 9 Champion Jake Dennis now set to be partnered by a fresh driver to the team.

    However, Andretti is a Porsche customer team, and it is rumoured that Mueller is expected to move to the manufacturer after testing with it earlier in the year.
    He subsequently left both ABT Cupra in Formula E, and vacated his Peugeot seat in the World Endurance Championship.

  • Andretti & Porsche partnership to continue

    Andretti has announced that the team will be extending its partnership with Porsche Motorsport through Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

    The extended collaboration will see Andretti continue to use the Porsche 99X Electric and underscores the outfit’s commitment to leveraging Porsche’s renowned expertise and technology for future success in the all-electric racing series.

    Since joining forces at the start of Season 9, the Porsche 99X has yielded a Drivers’ World Championship, three race wins, 15 podium finishes, five fastest laps, 112 laps led and a total of 365 points in Andretti colours.

    The Porsche-powered teams of TAG Heuer Porche and Andretti has also yielded 209 points jointly scored in the newly-established Manufacturers trophy, which the German manufacturer currently leads.

    The relationship between Andretti and Porsche Motorsport precedes the announcement of then GEN3 agreement.
    The partnership dates back to 1983, when Mario and Michael Andretti debuted at Le Mans in a Porsche 956, marking the beginning of shared victories including podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

    It’s an exciting time to be a part of Formula E and we feel confident in our position in the series, which is due in large part to our partnership with Porsche. From day one our goal has been to win races and championships, and Porsche has helped us achieve both since joining forces in Season 9. With all the success we’ve shared with the GEN3 car, I can’t wait to see what we can do together in the GEN3 Evo era.

    We are obviously very pleased about the continuation of our partnership. he Andretti name is one of the most renowned in global motorsports, so the contract extension is of particular importance to us. Andretti and the Porsche factory team work together in many areas in Formula E. We drive each other to peak performances. The standings at the halfway mark are proof for this: both teams find themselves in the top three, and so do two of the four drivers. Plus, together we are leading the Manufacturer’s Trophy for Porsche.

  • Andretti to run Maloney & Crawford in rookie tests

    Andretti have chosen Zane Maloney who will take the wheel of the teams’ Porsche 99X Electric in the Free Practice 0 session in Misano and the Berlin Rookie Test, with Jak Crawford joining the American squad for the first time to sample the Gen3 machine.

    The next generation of racing talent will again have a chance to showcase their skills in Season 10. Free Practice 0 running ahead of the 2024 Misano E-Prix on Friday 12th April, followed by the 2024 Berlin Rookie Test after the double-header in the German capital on Monday 13th May.

    Andretti is the first team to reveal the two drivers stepping into the seat of reigning champion, Jake Dennis and teammate Norman Nato.
    Zane Maloney is back to represent the American outfit, as he is the team’s official reserve and development by running laps in the FPO session in Milano.

    Maloney will again take part in the Berlin test and American Jak Crawford will join for a full day behind the wheel of the Gen3 machine around the Tempelhof circuit.

    Crawford who will make his Formula E debut at the 2024 Berlin Rookie Test has enjoyed a long history of on track success starting in karts before making his car racing debut in Formula 4 in 2018.
    After two years in FIA Formula 3, Crawford was promoted to Formula 2 quickly becoming a race winner at the Sprint race in Austria in 2023.

    Recently announced to the Aston Martin Young Driver Development program, Crawford will be the seventh American to participate in an official Formula E session joining fellow countrymen Marco Andretti, Matthew Brabham, Scott Speed, Oliver Askew, Colton Herta and Kyle Kirkwood.

    I can’t wait to represent Andretti Formula E once again at both Misano and Berlin. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the team and thank them for all the trust they have put in me. It will be interesting to see how the development work I’ve contributed to behind the scenes translates to the actual car on track during both occasions I get to drive it.

    We are excited to announce Zane Maloney’s participation in the Free Practice 0 session at the 2024 Misano E-Prix, as well as his inclusion in our 2024 Berlin Rookie Test lineup. Zane has proven to be a valuable asset to our team through his development work on the simulator, and we are confident that his knowledge will benefit us during the Misano E-Prix doubleheader weekend and the Berlin Rookie Test. Additionally, we are pleased to announce Jak Crawford’s rookie debut at  the Berlin Rookie Test,which marks an important milestone in his career. We look forward to seeing him showcase his talents on the Formula E stage. These opportunities are integral to Andretti Global’s commitment to developing and mentoring the next generation of drivers, and we are eager to see both Zane and Jak excel on track.
