  • Lotterer & Beckmann in as Porsche’s Reserve Drivers

    Porsche motorsport legend, Andre Lotterer and David Beckmann will support TAG Heuer Porsche as its Test and Reserve Drivers for the 2023/24 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

    With Lotterer, Porsche celebrated a successful Formula E debut in November 2019, when he took second place with the Porsche 99X electric at the opening round in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

    After a season competing for the new Porsche customer team Avalanche Andretti, the three time Le Mans winner’s main priority in 2024 will be the FIA Endurance World Championship with the Porsche Penske Motorsport team.

    For Beckmann, Season 10 will be his second as a test and reserve driver for the Porsche works team in Formula E.

    He turned his first laps on the racetrack with the Porsche 99X Electric in Calafat, Spain in autumn 2022 and took part in the official Rookie Test in sprint 2023 as part of the Berlin E-Prix weekend.
    As a reserve driver for the Porsche customer team, Avalanche Andretti, he celebrated his Formula E race debut in June at the double-header in Jakarta.

    Next season, our team will benefit from André’s wealth of Formula E experience. With David, we also have a young driver that we know well. He can also support us with the skill and experience he gained with our Porsche 99X Electric.

    After 26 years in single-seater racing, I have decided to close this chapter of my career and concentrate on the challenge of winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship with the Porsche 963. At the same time, I’m excited to continue supporting Porsche with my Formula E experience.

    I’m looking forward to continuing my work with Porsche and supporting the team in this challenging and diverse racing series. It’s a great job. I can better familiarise myself with the Porsche 99X Electric and gain crucial experience for further career steps in Formula E.

  • Lotterer leaves Formula E

    Andre Lotterer’s raced his last E-Prix and will say goodbye to the Formula E family with the German sportscar legend set to close the book on his single-seater racing career ahead of Season 10.

    The German driver who is a multiple Le Mans winner and FIA World Endurance Champion hailed a life-changing time in Formula E, rating the series as the “most challenging and fun championship” he’s raced in.

    Lotterer started out at TECHEETAH, in 2017 double-header in Hong Kong and celebrated a maiden podium at just his fourth race in a memorable battle with teammate Jean-Eric Vergne.

    Eight podiums, two Julius Baer Pole Positions and three TAG Heuer Fastest Laps were his haul but he never quite managed to convert the win in electric racing’s top tier.

    A move to the factory TAG Heuer Porsche squad on the German giants’ Formula E debut in Season 6 followed before Lotterer headed to Andretti for the first Gen3 campaign.

    It’s time for me to close my 26 year-long chapter in formula racing. I’ve decided to no longer take part in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in order to fully concentrate on my challenge with Porsche Penske Motorsport at Le Mans (for the fourth time) and in the FIA WEC. I would like to thank the people who helped me to join this innovative and exciting championship: Leo Thomas, Julian and Alexander Jakobi, JEV and the TECHEETAH team! The experiences together were great! I would like to personally thank Alejandro Agag, his team and the FIA ​​for bringing Formula E to life. It has been a fantastic journey, and you have changed the lives of many of us. Formula E was the most challenging and fun championship I have ever taken part in! I’m extremely grateful and proud to have driven in Formula E, to have promoted sustainable technologies and to have met the amazing people in this paddock, some of whom are now my best friends. Thank you all for the amazing support in all these years. A big thank you also to TAG Heuer Porsche for giving me the opportunity to lead the team on its Formula E debut in Season 6! Last but not least, I would like to thank my engineer, Fabrice Roussel, who supported me from the start and throughout has been incredibly supportive throughout the three Formula E teams, as well as the Avalanche Andretti for their confidence in Season 9.

  • Lotterer signs to Andretti

    Andre Lotterer will be joining Avalanche Andretti in Season 9, partnering Jake Dennis for the start of the Gen3 era of the Formula E World Championship.

    With five seasons in Formula E, three of which came at the wheel of the works TAG Heuer Porsche where the German scored four second place finishes, he now switches to the American-run outfit who will be getting powered by the Stuttgart squad.

    The 40 year old from Duisburg has had a storied motorsport career. On top of a total of eight podiums in Formula E he also boasts success in Japan with title success in Super GT and Super Formula, alongside an impressive endurance racing career, securing the World Endurance Championship in 2012 and winning the historic 24 Houre of Le Mans three times.

    I’m excited to be joining Avalanche Andretti for Season 9 and the start of the Gen3 era. Working together with Jake [Dennis] will be a great combination to continue to push the team to the front of the field in Formula E.

Andre is bringing a wealth of experience to Avalanche Andretti and is another step in creating a team that can challenge for wins and the World Championship.
