  • Hitech TGR confirm Colton Herta

    Hitech TGR have confirmed that Colton Herta will be racing for the team in the 2026 season.

    Herta joins the grid after seven full seasons in IndyCar where he achieved 19 podium finishes, which included nine victories as well as 16 pole positions and a best result of second overall in the 2024 season.

    Prior to that, the Cadillac F1 Team Test driver, finished third in the 2015 MSA Formula Championship and the 2016 Euroformula Open Championship.

    In addition to that, Herta also ended up second in the 2016 Spanish Formula 3 Championship. The American driver now returns to racing in Europe with Hitech and he is excited to get going in 2026.

    I’m incredibly excited to be joining Hitech for the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season. This is a big shift in my career, and I’m ready for the challenge. I’ve loved my time in IndyCar and I’m proud of everything I achieved, but the opportunity to race in F2 – to compete on the Formula 1 calendar, against some of the best young drivers in the world – was one I couldn’t pass up. I’ve always worked to keep the door to F1 open, and this move is part of that ultimate ambition. I know it won’t be easy – learning the car, the tyres, the tracks – but I’m approaching this with determination, focus, and a lot of motivation. My goal is to compete at the front, continue developing as a driver, and put myself in the best possible position for a future in Formula 1. Hitech has an excellent reputation and a proven track record, and I’m confident it’s the right environment for me to develop and perform. I want to thank them for believing in me and providing the platform to make this step.

    We’re delighted to welcome Colton to the team for the 2026 Formula 2 season. He already brings a level of experience, professionalism, and talent that we’re typically used to nurturing in drivers as they progress through the junior categories. This is an exciting step for Colton, but also a challenging one. He’s stepping into a new racing environment that has very different formats, with high expectations, and a clear goal of progressing to F1. But his determination and commitment are impressive and we’re delighted to help maximise his potential during the 2026 season.

  • CUPRA KIRO confirm Dan Ticktum

    CUPRA KIRO has confirmed Dan Ticktum will stay with the team through the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

    Ticktum enters his fifth season in Formula E after joining the grid from FIA Formula 2 in 2021.

    In the 2024/25 season, the 26 year old produced a breakthrough campaign which saw the Brit claim a landmark maiden podium in Tokyo, a maiden Julius Baer Pole Position in London and an unforgettable first victory in Jakarta.

    The upcoming 2025/26 season will mark Ticktum’s second with CUPRA KIRO and fifth overall with the Silverstone-based team, with the collaboration marking one of the longest active driver-team combinations on the grid.

    I am back. And I’m happy to be back. Season 11 was far more positive than any season before it. Last year we faced a big challenge to get everything in the right window as fast as we could, and with limited time, but we achieved that halfway through the season. I’m looking forward to building on that this year, and I think that if we can hit the ground running, we have a car that can be good enough to get more wins. My personal goal is a top five finish in the championship, but overall, I want to really enjoy the environment in the team. I love all of the people in this team, and I’m really looking forward to this season.

    Continuing our relationship with Dan for Season 12 was the easiest decision we’ve had to make as a team. Since joining us in 2021, we’ve been very fortunate to watch him grow and transform into one of Formula E’s most gifted drivers. From securing his first victory in Jakarta to taking pole in London, Dan’s performances last season proved what we’ve always believed: that he has the makings of a World Champion. He has the drive, the instinct, and the pure talent to be the best, and we’re very proud, and very excited to continue our journey together in Season 12. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve!

  • F1 announces extension of the US Grand Prix

    Formula 1 has announced that the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, is set to remain on the calendar until the 2034 inclusive.
    The new deal secures the long-term future of the event as Formula 1 continues to experience significant growth across the United States.

    Since its debut on the Formula 1 calendar in 2012, the United States Grand Prix has evolved into one of the sport’s biggest spectacles, drawing over 430,000 fans to the Circuit of The Americas in recent years.
    Renowned for its thrilling on-track battles and vibrant off-track entertainment, the venue blends world-class racing with performances from global and local music artists.

    The 5.5 kilometre circuit starts with an iconic uphill run into Turn 1, before drivers take on the famous high-speed through Turns 3 to 6.
    The circuit has thrilled fans with wheel to wheel racing and overtaking since the first Grand Prix there 13 years ago, and COTA has delivered six different winners in that time, including Lewis Hamilton who holds a record five victories at the venues.

    In 2024, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc claimed his first win at COTA, breaking Max Verstappen’s three year winning streak there, as the Scuderia sealed a 1-2 result, with Carlos Sainz second.

  • Sanya returns to Formula E

    The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will return to the vibrant coastal city of Sanya for Round 12 of Season 12 in June, marking the series’ first visit to the city since Season 5 (2018/19).

    Sanya joins Shanghai on the Season 12 calendar, with China now hosting two events in a single season – a clear reflection of the country’s strategic importance to Formula E and its longstanding place in the series’ history.
    It’s also a testament to China’s strong interest in Formula E, underlining the nation’s role as a key market and enthusiastic supporter of all-electric racing made possible through the support of the Government of Sanya, as well as trusted partners Sanya Lian Xin.

    Located on China’s Hainan Island, Sanya offers a unique blend of tropical scenery and a challenging street circuit layout, expected to deliver a unique racing experience for drivers and teams.
    As a city celebrated for its world-class tourism and positioned within the only free trade port with Chinese characteristics – the Hainan Free Trade Port – Sanya leverages Formula E as a global stage to showcase both its appeal to international visitors and its growing role as a hub for international business.

    China has played a pivotal role in the history of Formula E, having hosted the very first race of the Championship at the Beijing E-Prix in 2014.
    Since then, the series has raced in four different Chinese cities, including both Hong Kong and now Shanghai and Sanya. Across these eleven races, there have been ten different winners, showcasing the unpredictable and competitive nature of the Championship.

  • Russell & Antonelli confirmed as Mercedes line-up

    George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will form Mercedes’ Formula 1 driver line-up for the 2026 season, the team have announced.

    The eight-time World Champions have opted to stick with Russell and Antonelli, who are both products of the team’s junior programme and have guided the Silver Arrows to P2 in the Teams’ Championship with three race weekends to go.

    Russell was promoted to the works team in 2022, after three years at Williams, and has since clinched five Grands Prix wins, the latest of which came at Singapore.

    Next year will be his eighth in F1 and 10th campaign for Mercedes, having joined their junior programme in 2017.

    Rookie Antonelli has had some big peaks this year, including Sprint pole in Miami, a podium in Canada, where he became the youngest podium finisher in F1 history and podium in Sao Paulo, but also endured a difficult run through the European leg of the season.

    Confirming our driver line-up was always just a matter of when, not if. We wanted to take our time, handle the negotiations properly and make sure everyone, on all sides, was happy. I’m pleased we have done that. George and Kimi have proved a strong pairing and we’re excited to continue our journey together. Our focus is now on the final six races of the year, as we fight for second in the Constructors’, and onwards to 2026 and a new era in F1.

    I am really proud to be continuing our journey together. Next year will mark my 10th since I signed with Mercedes back in 2017. It has been such a long and successful partnership with the team so far and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead, particularly as we embark on one of the largest regulation changes in the sport’s history next year. We are all incredibly focused on making that a success and, for me personally, building on what has been my strongest season in F1 to date.

  • PREMA Racing confirm Louis Sharp for 2026

    PREMA Racing have confirmed that Louis Sharp will be driving for the team in 2026 – completing their driver lineup following the announcement of Enzo Deligny and James Wharton.

    Sharp is returning for a second campaign in Formula 3 after achieving several points finishes in his rookie season, on his way to finishing 26th in the Drivers’ Championship.

    Prior to that, the 18 year old achieved back-to-back title winning campaigns, securing both the 2023 British F4 and 2024 GB3 Championships.

    The New Zealand driver will now return for another season in F3, and at the announcement, Sharp spoke of his delight at the opportunity to race for PREMA.

To be able to say that I’m going to be a PREMA driver next year makes me proud, and already working with the team, I can see how motivated they are and how much they want to win.   • Wharton moves to PREMA

    PREMA Racing have confirmed their second driver signing for the 2026 season, with James Wharton set to join the team.

    Wharton is returning for a second season in Formula 3, following a rookie campaign where he achieved victory in the Spielberg Sprint Race and finished 18th in the Drivers’ Championship.

    Prior to that, the Australian driver raced for PREMA for three years, finishing as the runner-up in the 2023 Euro 4 Championship and the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.

    In addition to that, Wharton won the 2023 Formula 4 UAE Championship. His Championship campaign included four wins and a total of eleven podiums across the 15 races.

    The 19 year old is now set for another stint with the Italian team, and speaking at the announcement, Wharton expressed his delight to be back with PREMA.

    Super excited to be back at my second home for the 2026 season. Going into testing is about getting comfortable with the car and back with the team, and to make full preparations to enter 2026 on the right foot and be able to start strong at home in Melbourne. I missed PREMA a lot. The family I have there is amazing, and everyone in the team is just exceptional people.

  • Mueller joins Wehrlein at Porsche

    Pascal Wehrlein will be joined by Nico Mueller at Porsche for Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

    The 33 year old Swiss driver Mueller moves from Porsche customer team Andretti to the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer’s factory Formula E team.

    He succeeds Antonio Felix da Costa, the Portuguese driver having contributed significantly to the success of the Porsche Formula E Team over three years.

    Wehrlein, Drivers’ World Champion for the 2023/24 season, has been part of the Porsche Formula E Team since August 2020.
    Mueller joined the factory driver line-up in August 2024 and competed last season as a regular driver in the Porsche 99X for Andretti.

    Both drivers have already been conducting development work in the simulator in recent weeks for Season 13, when the fourth generation of Formula E cars will debut.

    Preparations for the first drives at the end of the year are underway at the Porsche centre in Weissach. Parallel to the GEN4 development, Porsche is embarking on the final season with the current, third-generation car, which begins on December 6th with the opening race in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

    I’m incredibly proud of this step and thank Porsche Motorsport for their trust. My last season wasn’t easy, but it was all the more instructive – that motivates me tremendously to repay the team’s trust on the track. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team even more and I am convinced that Pascal and I will form a strong duo. I want to contribute as quickly as possible to helping the team build on its recent successes.

    I am delighted that we continue to have one of the strongest driver pairings in the field. Pascal is, of course, a well-known figure. Nico has been able to familiarise himself with the Porsche 99X Electric at Andretti during the previous season and is therefore well prepared when he gets into the factory car. Our goals for the upcoming season remain the same: We want to fight for all three titles at the finale in London next year.

  • Da Costa joins Jaguar TCS Racing

    Jaguar TCS Racing have confirmed Antonio Felix da Costa will take up a race seat alongside Mitch Evans for the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

    Da Costa – the 2019/20 Driver’ World Champion – joins Jaguar TCS Racing from Porsche. With 12 wins to his name, five of those in the GEN3 era of Formula E, the Portuguese has consistently shown his exceptional pace and race craft in the all-electric World Championship.

    A title contending driver in Formula E since its inception, da Costa is widely respected for his deep technical expertise and has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting and accomplished talents in electric motorsport.

    Together, da Costa and Evans boast 270 combined Formula E race starts, 26 race wins, 60 podiums and 18 poles – more joint race starts and wins than any other team pairing in Formula E history.

    Da Costa quickly rose through the ranks of junior single-seaters following a standout karting career. He impressed in the Formula 3 Euro Series, GP3 and Formula Renault 3.5, earning a coveted spot in the Red Bull Junior Team.

    By 2010, he made his Formula 1 test debut with Force India and, just two years later, became Red Bull Racing’s official test driver – cementing his reputation as a rising star.

    Joining Jaguar TCS Racing, a team with a rich legacy in motorsport, is an incredible honour. The team’s resilience and pursuit of performance and innovation is something I’ve always admired, and I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the impressive Jaguar I-TYPE 7. Partnering with Mitch, one of the most experienced drivers in Formula E and a close friend, is a privilege. I’m excited for this next chapter – to learn, push boundaries, and play my part in driving the team forward for Season 12 and beyond.

  • ART Grand Prix confirm Kanato Le

    ART Grand Prix have announced that Kanato Le will be racing for them in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season.

    Le made the step up to single seater racing in 2022 and had a strong 2023 campaign in British F4, winning two races and adding a further two podiums on his way to finishing seventh in the Standings.

    The Japanese driver also competed in the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, and then returned for a second season in the competition with ART Grand Prix this year.

    So far in 2025, he has achieved several points finishes and sits 13th in the Drivers’ Standings.

    In addition to that, Le has competed in nine races of this year’s GB3 Championship, achieving one victory and an additional two podiums.

    I’m super excited to be racing in FIA F3 next season with ART GP. I am really grateful for the opportunity they have given me to be able to race in this championship. It’s been a good year working with the team in FRECA this season and I look forward to getting started in F3. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point and trusting me. I will work hard with the team to achieve good results so I’m really looking forward to it.

    Kanato’s move to F3 is the natural continuation of his journey with ART Grand Prix. After two seasons in FRECA, he will now discover an even more demanding category, where every detail makes the difference.   • Pedro Clerot joins Rodin Motorsport

    Rodin Motorsport has finalised its lineup for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season, with Pedro Clerot confirmed as the team’s third and final signing.

    The Brazilian driver has been racing in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine this year and has so far taken two wins and a further four podium finishes.

    Prior to his FRECA campaign, Clerot claimed multiple karting titles in his native Brazil, before graduating to single-seater racing in 2021.

    He won the Brazilian F4 title in 2022 and moved onto Spanish F4 in 2023, finishing that season sixth overall with two wins.
    In 2024, he took part in his rookie FRECA season, earning two podiums en route to eighth in the standings that year, and he sits fourth with a round to go in the ’25 campaign.

    I’m very happy to join Rodin for my first year in FIA F3 for my rookie season. Working with the team will be very special. I followed their 2025 season quite closely and strongly believe that together, with the team, we can achieve great things working together. I’m very grateful to Rodin for the trust and commitment in signing the deal. I can’t wait to get started!

  • ART Grand Prix confirm Gladysz for 2026

    Maciej Gladysz will move up to FIA Formula 3 in 2026 with ART Grand Prix, the French team has confirmed.

    The Polish driver made his single-seater debut last year, finishing third overall in both the Formula Winter Series and Spanish F4 Championship in 2024.

    In 2025, he followed that up by winning the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship with two poles, wins and five podiums overall and is currently sixth in the Eurocup-3 Standings having taken a race victory.

    Prior to his step into single-seater racing, Gladysz won multiple karting accolades at both a National and European level.

    Stepping up into the FIA Formula 3 Championship with the ART Grand Prix Team is a dream come true for me and my family. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and proud to make my F3 debut with such a successful squad. I immediately felt at home in the team and can’t wait to start this new chapter of my career. I’ve learned a lot in 2025 and shown that I have the speed to make that next step for 2026. I always aim high and I’m ready to continue working hard and keep improving as a driver. I would also like to thank all our partners who made this step possible and all the amazing fans who supported me along the way.

  • R21 – Sao Paulo

    Lando Norris has further extended his championship lead after claiming victory in a gripping Sao Paulo Grand Prix, with the McLarn driver leading Mercdes’ Kimi Antonelli home while Max Verstappen put in a remarkable comeback to finish on the podium after starting from the pit lane.

    After making a good start from pole position, Norris continued to lead amid a hectic first few laps, with a Safety Car being deployed following a crash into the barriers for Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto at the Brazilian’s home race.

    A Virtual Safety Car was then deployed after the restart due to another incident in which Oscar Piastri locked up and hit Antonelli, sending the Mercedes into Charles Leclerc who was forced to retire his damaged Ferrari from the race.

    The full top 10 are- P1: Norris, P2: Antonelli, P3: Verstappen, P4: Russell, P5: Piastri, P6: Bearman, P7: Lawson, P8: Hadjar, P9: Hulkenberg and P10: Gasly.

    What a dominant weekend for Norris, P1 across all the sessions this weekend, no-one came close to challenging him. If he wins this championship it will be down to this weekend, as he excelled, whereas the other contenders had a lot of work to do.
    A bit of a meh result for Piastri, P5 not a great result at all, especially when his teammate done so well.

    What a result for Antonelli, his stepped up this weekend and as a result got his career best finish! He will be happy with this weekend and so will the team in the battle for P2 in the Constructors!
    As for his teammate, Russell finished 4th, a great result again this weekend, lots of points grabbed.

    P3 for Verstappen, what a drive for the Dutchman, from starting in the pitlane to finishing on the podium, a big championship drive and it could make all the difference in where he finishes at the end of the season.

    P6 for Bearman, a lovely drive from the Haas driver, two really good weekends in a row for the Brit. Very good for Haas in the constructors, they are two points away from Aston Martin and 12 points away from Racing Bulls in 6th.

    Talking of Racing Bulls, a double points finish for them! A really good showing from the team after a couple of rough race weekends in a row.

    A weekend to forget for Ferrari… Leclerc DNF as he got the repercussions from the Antonelli/Piastri fumble at the restart. Hamilton was a DNF too as he had some damage from early on in the race and retired in the pitlane.

    Now we only have three races left of the 2025 season and our next stop is Las Vegas! On the 20th to 22nd November…

  • R21 – Sao Paulo Sprint Qualifying

    Lando Norris put in an impressive lap to take pole position during Sprint Qualifying at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, the Brit beating Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli and the other McLaren of Oscar Piastri to seal P1.

    After setting a benchmark with his banker lap during SQ3, Norris went even quicker with his final effort of 1m 09.243, a time that proved unbeatable to his rivals. Antonelli was the closest challenger, the Silver Arrows racer 0.097s behind as he took the other spot on the front row.

    Despite showing good pace during Friday, Piastri had to settle for third, while George Russell added to a decent day for Mercedes in fourth.
    The full top 10 are- Pole: Norris, P2: Antonelli, P3: Piastri, P4: Russell, P5: Alonso, P6: Verstappen, P7: Stroll, P8: Leclerc, P9: Hadjar and P10: Hulkenberg.

    A lovely result for Norris! Just what he would’ve wanted going into this weekend and the best place to start considering the ever changing weather at São Paulo. As for Piastri, a decent result in P3 still lots to play for!

    P2 for Antonelli!! Love to see it! The Mercedes is known for being good around this track so it’s not that surprising but a great result for the Italian! George Russell added to their great result with a P4! They will be looking to score big points and a few podiums this weekend.

    P5 for Alonso! I didn’t expect that going into this weekend, but with the past few cars I’ve mentioned, they’ve all got one thing in common… Mercedes Powertrains. So clearly they are doing very well, and have good performance at the minute.

    Not the best result for Verstappen but still in the fight, P6 for the Dutchman a little bit further back than his title contenders but anything can happen at São Paulo!

    Not the best day for the Ferrari’s, Leclerc P8 and Hamilton P11. It was said that they have set their car up differently to more focus on overall performance and not just one lap.

  • R21 – Tyre Selection

    A fortnight on from the previous round, Formula 1 returns to the American continent for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The Brazilian weekend features the penultimate Sprint, prior to the final one of the season in Qatar.

    The circuit named in honour of Brazilian racer Jose Carlos Pace is 4.309 kilometres long.
    The layout at Interlagos is interesting, with hints of an anti-clockwise oval circuit, which the drivers deal with 71 times in the race.

    It boasts 15 corners with relatively balanced lateral and longitudinal forces that do not put any undue strain on the tyres, as they are subjected to loads distributed equally between the front and rear axles.

    The combination of several straights and much twistier sections offers plenty of overtaking opportunities, although it also means there’s a higher risk of Safety Cars and incidents.

    At this time of the year, the weather and temperature can be very variable, with a risk of frequent rain and the inevitable use of wet weather tyres.

    This year’s compound selection for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix harks back to 2023, with the C2 (Hard), C3 (Medium), C4 (Soft), therefore one step harder than the trio used last year.

    Last year, the dry weather tyres were not required for the race, but when used on Friday and Saturday, they showed high levels of wear, as well as graining, especially on the rear axle.

    The circuit had been completely resurfaced, thus leaving a very smooth surface, less abrasive than in previous years, although still with plenty of bumps around the track.

    Last year, qualifying and the race both took place on Sunday, with bad weather forecast, the race director decided to run qualifying at 07.30 as well as bringing the Grand Prix start time forward to 12.30.

  • HiTech TGR finalise 2026 line-up

    Hitech TGR have confirmed the signing of Fionn McLaughlin for the 2026 season, completing their driver lineup for next year – following the announcement of Jin Nakamura and Michael Shin.

    After a trophy laden karting career, McLaughlin made the step up to single-seater racing in 2025, finishing third in the Formula Winter Series and claiming the British F4 Championship this past weekend, with five victories across the season.

    The 17 year old Red Bull Junior Team driver is now set to graduate up to Formula 3 and following his announcement, he expressed how delighted he was to be continuing his career in such familiar environment.

    I’m incredibly proud of everything I’ve achieved this year – it’s already been a whirlwind journey from karting to single-seaters, and now stepping up to FIA Formula 3 with Hitech is a dream come true.   • Campos completes 2026 lineup

    Campos Racing have confirmed that Ugo Ugochukwu will be racing for the team next season, completing their lineup for the 2026 campaign.

    Ugochukwu, who will race alongside Theophile Nael and Ernesto Riviera, returns for a second year in Formula 3 after a rookie season in which he achieved two podiums and finished 16th in the Drivers’ Championship.

    Prior to that, the 19 year old finished third in the 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship, after winning the 2024 Macau Grand Prix and becoming the 2023 Euro 4 Champion.

    The American driver is now set to continue in F3 for a second season, and he is excited about the prospect of doing so with the reigning Teams’ Champions.

    I’m really excited to be joining Campos Racing for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season. It will be my second year in the category, so I’ll bring more experience with me. The team comes from winning the Teams’ title last season, so I know I’ll be in a very strong environment. I’m confident that together we can achieve great results in the upcoming season.

  • Dunne departs from McLaren’s Development Programme

    McLaren have announced that they have ended their contract with Driver Development Programme member Alex Dunne.

    Irish racer Dunne – who is currently competing in his debut Formula 2 campaign for Rodin Motorsport – joined McLaren’s programme in May 2024 and went on to participate in two Free Practice 1 sessions for the squad at this year’s Austrian and Italian Grand Prix.

    However, McLaren have now confirmed that the partnership has come to an end, with the Woking-based team realising a statement on the news.

    Dunne currently sits in fifth place of the Formula 2 Drivers’ Standings with two rounds of the championship remaining.

    The 19 year old claimed his debut win in the category with victory at the Sakhir Feature Race in April before following this up with a second triumph at Imola during Round 4.

    From today I’ve mutually decided to part ways with the McLaren Driver Development programme. I’d like to thank every individual at McLaren that has helped me develop and improve as a driver, To have my first opportunity to drive an F1 car followed by two FP1 sessions is something I’ll always hold very close to my heart, I wish them all the best for the future.   • Taponen moves to MP Motorsport for 2026

    Tuukka Taponen will return for a second season in Formula 3 next year, making the move to MP Motorsport for the 2026 campaign.

    The 18 year old had a stellar rookie year in F3, achieving three podiums on his way to finishing ninth in the Drivers’ Championship.

    Prior to that, the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy member had a trophy-laden step karting career, before making the step up to single seater racing in 2021.

    Taponen then finished second in the 2023 Formula 4 UAE Championship, before becoming the 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Champion. Later that year, he took third in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.

    He is now set to continue in Formula 3 for another season, and is delighted to be back and to be racing with MP.

    I’m really pleased to join MP Motorsport for my second year in Formula 3. It’s wonderful news to have confirmation of my immediate future so early. It means that I have a productive winter with the team and the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy ahead of me, as we work together on the best possible preparation for the 2026 season.   • Stenshorne joins Rodin for 2026

    Rodin Motorsport have confirmed their first driver signing for the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season, with Martinius Stenshorne set to step up with the team next year.

    Stenshorne recently made his F2 debut in Baku in what was an impressive showing, qualifying in the top 10 and contending for a strong finish in both races before being forced to retire from both the Sprint and Feature races.

    The Norwegian competed in the 2025 F3 season with two wins and a further three runner-up finishes across the year, finishing fifth overall in the standings.

    Prior to F3, Stenshorne finished second in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine in 2023 and earned multiple karting titles before stepping up to single seaters in 2022.

  • HiTech confirm Michael Shin for 2026

    Hitech TGR have announced their second driver signing for the 2026 season, with Michael Shin set to join the team for the upcoming campaign.

    Shin returns to Formula 3 having competed in six races during the 2023 season, and since then he has finished fourth in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship and seventh in Eurocup-3 back in 2024

    This year, the South Korean driver has been competing in the Euroformula Open Championship and with one round to go he is second in the Standings, having achieved four victories.

    In addition to that, Shin also competed in one round of the 2025 GB3 Championship, achieving one podium finish.

    I am delighted to be returning home to Hitech TGR for my full FIA F3 debut. Having been away from the team these past two years developing, this feels like a perfect reunion. I am looking forward to getting to work in the post-season tests and building towards a strong debut in Melbourne.

  • Prema confirm Enzo Deligny for 2026

    PREMA Racing have confirmed their first driver signing for the 2026 season, with Enzo Deligny set to join the team.

    Deligny is currently in the middle of a stellar campaign in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, as he sits third in the Drivers’ Standings helped by his three wins.

    Prior to that, the 17 year old finished fifth in the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship and fourth in the 2024 Macau Grand Prix.

    As well as that, in his debut year in single seater racing back in 2023, Deligny finished fourth in the Spanish F4 Championship.

    Deligny is now set to take the next step of his career in Formula 3 with PREMA, and is happy to be taking on his new challenge with the Italian team.

  • Hitech confirm Nakamura for 2026

    Jin Nakamura will step up to FIA Formula 3 in 2026 with Hitech TGR. The team confirmed their first signing for next season.

    The Japanese driver is set to step up from Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. Nakamura currently sits 11th in the Standings with a season-best finish of third.

    Nakamura made his single-seater debut back in 2022 in Japanese F4, finishing fourth before returning for a second season and improving to P2 in the Standings.

    He then raced in the Super Formula Lights and Super GT series’, finishing fourth and sixth respectively in 2024.

    The 19 year old also competed in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship earlier this year, taking one win and a further podium result on the way to 10th in the standings.

    I am very proud to be joining Hitech for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season. It has been a dream to race in this championship. I am grateful to the team for their trust, and to Toyota Gazoo Racing, who have supported me throughout my racing journey.   • Del Pino joins Van Amersfoort

    Van Amersfoort Racing have confirmed that Bruno del Pino will be racing for them in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season.

    Del Pino returns for a second campaign in F3 after a rookie year in which he had plenty of positive moments, including a second-place finish in the Imola Sprint Race.

    Prior to that, the 19 year old finished third in the 2024 Eurocup-3 Championship as well as the 2022 FIA Motorsport Games Formula 4 Cup.

    The Spaniard is now set to return for another season in F3 with VAR and at the announcement he expressed how excited he was for the opportunity.

  • Campos confirm Ernesto Rivera for 2026

    Ernest Rivera will step up to FIA Formula 3 next season with Campos Racing, the team has confirmed.

    The Mexican driver is currently third in the Eurocup-3 series, having taken three race victories and four further podiums with one round to go.

    Prior to his Eurocup campaign, the 16 year old made his debut in single seaters with Campos in the Formula Winter Series, going on to complete a full season of Spanish F4 and earning one win on the way to fifth in the standings.

    He then followed that up with a Formula Regional Middle East Championship season. Rivera becomes Campos’ second signing for 2026 after the confirmation of Theophile Nael last month.

    I’m really excited to continue my journey with Campos Racing and the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship season. This is a huge step forward in my career and I’m very grateful for the trust and support from both Campos Racing and Red Bull.   • Rodin Motorsport confirm Christian Ho

    Rodin Motorsport have confirmed their second driver signing of the 2026 season, with Christian Ho set to race for them next year.

    Ho moves to Rodin for his second campaign in Formula 3, after a good rookie campaign during which he achieved several points finishes, including a personal best of P5 at the Silverstone Feature Race.

    Prior to that, the Singaporean driver achieved six victories on his way to being crowned the 2024 Eurocup-3 Champion.

    The 18 year old is now set to return for a second full season in Formula 3 and he is delighted to be doing so with Rodin.

    It’s a new journey that I’m excited to embark on. I have lots to improve and I’m prepared to put in the hard work before the new season starts.

  • AIX Racing retain Cian Shields for 2026

    AIX Racing have announced that Cian Shields is set to return for a second season in FIA Formula 2 with the team in 2026.

    Shield is currently in the midst of his rookie campaign in the Championship with the team and so far, has a best result of P11 at the Imola Feature Race.

    Prior to that, the 20 year old has one full season in FIA Formula 3 in 2024, and finished second in the 2023 Euroformula Open Championship, with four victories to his name.

    Shields is now set to continue in Formula 2 next year and following the announcement, he expressed confidence in his ability to continue to grow with AIX.

    I’m happy to continue with AIX Racing for another season in FIA Formula 2. This year had its challenges, but I’ve taken a lot of lessons from it and I feel ready to come back stronger. With the experience we’ve built together, I’m confident we can take a big step forward and fight for the results we want.

  • R20 – Tyre Selection

    Formula 1’s America journey continues with a trip south for the Mexico City Grand Prix, one week on from the round in Austin.
    As usual, the atmosphere inside the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will be electrifying because of the exuberance of the fans who pack the grandstands in the spectacular Foro Solo stadium section.

    The race is run over 71 laps of the 4.304 kilometres of Mexico City’s Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez which boasts 17 corners.
    Its main peculiarity is its altitude, which at over 2,200 metres above sea level means the air is very rarefield. Therefore the cars generate less downforce making car set-up and technical management particularly demanding for the teams.

    The main straight is over 1.2 kilometres long, on which the cars reach very high top speeds, partly down to the minimal downforce. The track surface is very smooth and at the start of the weekend does not provide much grip, as it does not get used much.

    As was the case in Austin last weekend, for the Mexican round there is again a jump in the compound selection between the hardest of the three and the medium.

    While the Medium and Soft are the C4 and C5 respectively, as in 2024, the Hard will now the C2. For the Mexico City track, this compound is an extremely conservative choice, with a considerable delta in terms of lap time compared to the other two, while also offering less grip.

    Last year, the soft only came into play in qualifying and then in the race, only in an attempt to secure the extra point for setting the fastest lap, but now the scenario could change considerably.

    In 2024, all drivers, except Sergio Perez, adopted a one-stop strategy last year. Most started on the medium compound, while six driver, all of whom went on to finish outside the top eleven, preferred the hard for the first stint.

  • Stromsted stays with Trident for 2026

    Trident have announced that Noah Stromsted is set to return for a second campaign in Formula 3 with the team – completing their lineup for 2026 following the announcements of Freddie Slater and Matteo de Paolo.

    The 18 year old had a stellar rookie campaign in 2025, finishing sixth in the Drivers’ Championship with 84 points after achieving three podiums, which included a victory in the Spa-Francorchamps Sprint Race.

    Prior to that, Stromsted stepped up to single seater racing in 2021, and had success immediately, ending up second in the Danish F4 Championship with nine wins in 11 races.

    The Danish driver also competed in six races of the 2022 Spanish F4 Championships before returning for a full campaign in 2023, achieving three podiums.

    The year before stepping up to Formula 3, Stromsted achieved four podiums on his way to finishing sixth in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.

    Stromsted is now set to return for another full season of Formula 3 with Trident, and he is more than delighted to be back with the Italian team.

    I am very happy to continue with Trident Motorsport in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship. After completing my first full year with the Italian team, I look forward to building on this experience together, starting with the upcoming category collective test scheduled in Jerez. Our goal will be to fight for wins and ultimately the championship throughout the year. the knowledge I have from this year is going the be very important so we will work hard over the winter to build on that and be ready for 2026.

In his debut season, the Danish driver showed impressive speed, even if the results were occasionally inconsistent.   • Jak Crawford to make FP1 debut

    United States racer Jak Crawford will make his Formula 1 weekend debut at the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix when he gets a rookie run-out for Aston Martin.

    Crawford will take over the AMR25 of Lance Stroll during Free Practice 1 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, in one of the team’s four mandated rookie outings for 2025.

    Crawford is currently P2 in the Formula 2 standings – while the Houston, Texas born driver has a wealth of experience in F1 machinery, having racked up over 2,000km of testing in various Aston Martin F1 cars, as well as being a regular in the team’s simulator at their Silverstone headquarters.

    Crawford is not the only rookie taking part in the FP1 sessions, with nine different rookies taking part.

    I’m thrilled to drive the AMR25 next week in Mexico for my first official Formula One session. I’ve worked closely with the team all year, so to now take the next step and get track time on a Grand Prix weekend is really exciting. Announcing this in Texas, where I’m from, makes it even more special after a busy week with the team and Aramco in Houston.
